The didactic portion of the program focuses on the basic knowledge necessary for the practice of emergency medicine. A weekly core lecture series is designed cover all of the major topics in emergency medicine twice in three years and the minor areas at least once. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator.
