Their daily experiences range from high-turnover, outpatient surgeries to complex, medically challenging surgical cases such as liver transplants, cardiac procedures, and traumas. No two days offer the same educational experience. They care for patients at OHSU Hospital, the OHSU Center for Health and Healing ambulatory center, OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and the VA Portland Health Care System. All of these buildings are connected by either skybridge or aerial tram, so the learning experience is mainly centered on one unified campus. They also spend a month off-site at Kaiser Sunnyside for a private practice cardiac anesthesiology rotation.

The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
