Program Info
The College of Medicine launched a major recruitment effort for under-represented in medicine (URM) residents in 2003, at which time URM residents comprised of 3 percent (16 out of 522) of our total residents. The efforts of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, residency training directors and faculty have directly impacted our recruitment. Today, our resident house-staff is comprised of 12 percent URM individuals with representation in more than 75 percent of the clinical departments.

"overview then 5 interviews and 3 15 minute chllout times with two residents. Residents were chill, nice. PD was very open and nice. open to changin program for the students. Wellness supported Beautiful hospital and area. downside is the expense and distance from home. no weekly social events. didactics aren't super strong; talked a ton about the simulations but residents didn't find lectures to be helpful Will send out ranking info in January; second looks then"

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
