Program Info
Foothills Family Medicine is the outpatient clinical practice, and the primary teaching hospital is Gadsden Regional Medical Center, a major regional hospital with complete inpatient and outpatient care. It's an active family medicine inpatient service to which patients are admitted from the clinic and the emergency room. This service is run by GRMC Family Medicine residents under the supervision of faculty physicians. Care includes all ages and the full spectrum of Family Medicine, from infants to teenagers to adults to geriatric patients. They also provide medical consultations for other hospital services. Residents also rotate through other areas of the hospital during their training, such as the Emergency Room, ORs, ICU, Labor & Delivery, and newborn nursery.

"Accommodations were provided by the program, as well as dinner at the home of a member of the program the night before interview day. On interview day, lunch was had with program director before interview, followed by a tour of the hospital led by a resident. 3 interviews with PD, APD, and faculty. Everyone in the program was very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are first class, and the curriculum is complete as can be. The area where the program is located is beautiful."

The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
