Program Info
The curriculum of the program provides family medicine education as it should be practiced today. To enhance required family medicine rotations, the program offers additional training in addiction medicine, practice management, and offers 5 electives to shape the program in a way that allows the residents to reach their professional goals. OMM will be an integral component of the training (even for allopathic residents), especially in the continuity care clinic and on the inpatient service. The didactic curriculum is unique, in that it is structured to include 4 hourly weekly sessions, as well as a 4-hour block session every other week. To promote family in the community and in today's medical care, yearly community projects, a comprehensive nursing home curriculum, and home visits will be highlights of their program. Finally, the residents will have significant, hands-on time with their faculty mentor to work on QI and research projects.
