Interview Experience

"Horrible interview experience. Itinerary said you must show up at 9, but preferrably at 8:55. All candidates were sitting there in the zoom session for probably half an hour before someone showed up. The coordinator is not reachable by phone or e-mail. Anyways, chief resident showed up and said he can't turn on his camera because he's in another meeting. He showed us some gloomy 6 minute-long video with no sound where the camera person was going around shakily filming what's on the walls of the clinic. He answered questions for another 15 minutes and then disappeared before saying PD will be joing you shortly. Sometime during all that we get an e-mail that the PD won't be showing up at 10 as scheduled but instead 11:30 because she's held up in a meeting. We hear nothing at 11:30. Someone reached the coordinator by phone closer to 12 and she said she was about to send an e-mail. She sends an email at 12:30 saying to come to the zoom session even though all the candidates have been sitting in the zoom session waiting patiently. PD finally shows up and gives us a run-down of the program. Said we'll call you when it's time to interview you. So what are you supposed to do? There's no schedule posted. Do you get undressed or do you remain wearing your professional attire? Anyways, coordinator calls like an hour later saying to come on. There's a quick 10 minute 3-panel interrogation as to what you've done on your CV to prove you're adamant on FM. Made me feel completely depressed about myself and my application, and not to even mention the complete disregard of our time and emotional health. Can't believe they treat candidates like this."

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
