Program Info
Residents have the opportunity to participate in a research project.
Program Info
Residents undertake progressive autonomy and responsibility for patient care decision-making Technical support services perform nearly all ancillary procedures which allows the resident to spend more time at the patients' bedside.
"I applied to all 4 Rural locations, so I actually had five interviews days. The way the Program works is that you do the first year in Omaha, and the second and third years at your location, so by the time you are actually on your own at your Rural location you're feeling pretty confident. All interview days were one hour only, divided into two parts. On the first day with Omaha, I was interviewed by the PD, and then the coordinator gave me all the legal/official details. The next four interviews were PD of the location then I got to talk to the resident there. All via zoom. They do allow site visitations, but they asked to save that for February after the interviews are done. Honestly, everyone is extremely nice, and I felt very comfortable throughout the interviews. "

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
