What makes Alamogordo unique is that you will be trained in an independent community hospital with no competing residency programs. On your rotations, you will have the opportunity to learn one on one from practicing physicians who are enthusiastic about teaching their skills and allowing you to learn procedures that you can take into your future practice. The hospital recently invested over 1 million dollars to build a state of the art residency clinic. You will have the opportunity to learn in a beautiful, modern space while enjoying the amenities of our hospital and specialty clinics, all within a short drive (usually 10 minutes or less) of Champion Family Medicine Clinic.

"This interview was amazing! Everyone (residents, attendings and program director) were really went out of there way to make me feel comfortable and try to convince me to come to the program. I was invited to a second look in January and they pay for the hotel for two days. They offered to go look at apartments for me and video zoom call me from the apartments if I come to the program. It really seems like they go above and beyond for their residents. And everyone seems to get along like family or close friends. This seems like a really good environment to spend 3 years in. "

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
