"3-hour interview day. Started with program overview with slides, virtual tour and group Q&A with 4 residents. Then 3 individual interviews (10 minutes with PD, 20 minutes with APD, 20 minutes with core faculty member). There are also Zoom social events (optional) before and after the interview. Program has high workload (3-4 inpatient rounds per day) but many opportunities for procedures and research, 100% fellowship match rate, in-house cardiology and endocrinology fellowships. Fun interview where they try to gauge your personality, asked questions like "what personality trait/quality would you want to lose and what would you want to gain?", "Which 3 public figures do you want to have dinner with, dead or alive, and what questions you would ask them?" Also asked about my personal ties to Chicago and whether I know any people from this program personally. No medical questions. A lot of time given for Q&A. No small talk, unlike my other interviews in Chicago which featured at least half an hour of small talk in the zoom lobby with other candidates and residents."

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
