Suburban is a small community hospital with a big heart. At this facility, the residents enjoy phenomenal ancillary support and hard-working nursing staff. Training there will prepare internists to work in the primary care and community hospital setting. Two out-of-house elective blocks allow trainees to expand their horizons by going to train at outside facilities. Many residents use this opportunity to experience medicine in the university hospital setting or gain exposure to a potential fellowship program.

All candidates are left in the main zoom room with a resident who was a TY to answer questions but it seemed more like he was there to assess who keeps the conversation going. The interview spans over 6hours as candidates go to breakout rooms to interview with a chief resident and PD (20 mins each with regular get to know you questions). It is quite natural to lose smile and to run out of questions towards the end but the resident in the main room made it all the more difficult as he kept mentioning here's the awkward silence again and do you guys really not have any questions? All relevant questions were asked earlier and it was difficult towards the end of the interview. Coordinator was super helpful in answering those relevant questions."

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
