The Womack OB/GYN residency program is a four-year program that accepts up to three residents per year. The program consists of twelve months of training in various rotations, such as: - **Labor and Delivery Day** - You will manage laboring patients, perform deliveries, assist in cesarean sections, and handle obstetric emergencies. - **Labor and Delivery Night** - You will provide overnight coverage for labor and delivery, triage, postpartum, and antepartum units. - **Maternal Fetal Medicine** - You will learn how to diagnose and manage high-risk pregnancies, perform ultrasounds, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal blood sampling. - **Gynecology Oncology** - You will participate in the care of patients with gynecologic malignancies, perform major surgeries, administer chemotherapy, and manage complications. - **UroGynecology** - You will evaluate and treat patients with pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction. You will also perform urodynamic studies, cystoscopy, and pelvic reconstructive surgery. - **Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility** - You will gain exposure to the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, endocrine disorders, menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, and recurrent pregnancy loss. You will also learn how to perform assisted reproductive technologies, such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization. - **Ambulatory/Operative** - You will provide outpatient care for general obstetrics and gynecology patients, perform minor procedures, such as colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, dilation and curettage, and loop electrosurgical excision procedure. - **Acute Care Gynecology** - You will manage patients with acute gynecologic conditions, such as ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion, pelvic inflammatory disease, postoperative complications, and hemorrhage. - **Obstetric** - You will provide prenatal care for low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, perform antenatal testing, manage common obstetric problems, such as preterm labor, preeclampsia, diabetes mellitus, and fetal growth restriction.
