Driscoll is a freestanding Children's Hospital positioned to serve a large area of South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. The hospital is in Corpus Christi, overlooking the bay. Here residents have the opportunity to learn from a patient population of substantial volume with an abundance of diverse and unusual pathology. This, combined with our strong focus on academics and evidence based medicine, are some of the attractions that bring medical students from four schools to train with us. The greatest strength of the hospital and of the residency program lies in the warm and inviting culture that surrounds our residents and medical students. We are fortunate to have friendly and dedicated hospital staff and teaching faculty in general pediatrics and all major subspecialties who participate in our resident’s educational experiences.

The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
