Interview Experience

"It was 3, 20 minute interviews. My interview with the PGY4 went really really well. He was from AUC, Dr. Tzanares. We spent the majority of the time talking about AUC and hardly even spent time with actual interview questions. It was more like a conversation and I felt very comfortable. I can say the same thing with Dr. Faulk, the PD. He was SUPER nice! I is also a fellow AUC alum. We spent our time talking about vegan food and our AUC experiences. I felt very comfortable with him as well. Enjoyed my convo with the faculty Dr. Morales and Dr. Wilson who hosted a joint interview. They offer home call which is great. Very low cost of living. Close to Raleigh and sounds like they have good weather. They salary is not bad and it is constantly increasing. They do not have fellowships but felt that is a good thing because they do not have to compete for hands on training. Overall, a great impression on the program."

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
