"Pros: - It’s in Manhattan – good location UES - No short call – only o/n and late call (12pm – 8pm) - Start at 8 am - Most rotations end 4:30/5 - On IR you finish around 4 (start at 7:30) - PD said that there are people in the program who were shomer Shabbos and every attempt is made and generally there are no issues – he cited one time an attending had to work on Shabbos who was frum, but he said it’s uncommon - Ayelet told me the caf has kosher food options - Have ESIR - Weekday moonlighting from 5-7 pm at 75$/hr - Opportunity to be in the Northwell health system which sets you up well for future jobs - Fellowship match is decent - No fellows so get lots of opportunities to do procedures - Good salary (less than mount sinai though) - It’s an okay program - Good volume Cons: - Lots of call in R2 - Weekend IR call in R1 – home call - May not be able to accommodate Shabbos, it depends on the other residents and if they don’t want to then I’ll have to work ☹ - Attending interview told me they are very weak in cardiac imaging - Buddy call but it starts in February - Can only take vacation in 1 week blocks - Have to commute to LIJ for peds rotation in 1st year - Expensive COL - Less research opportunities than I’d like - 7 weeks of night float in R2 - 17 weekend days in R2 – including 9 Saturdays – could be tricky to switch out "

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
