Interview Experience

"Tulsa day is very standard with dinner tours etc... but this year is the first year they've combined the rural track into the Tulsa program so you no longer rank the two separately. When they offered me an interview at Tulsa they asked if I would want to interview with their Rural track as well? So I spent one day in Tulsa then drove out to another interview dinner in Bartlesville (~30min away) with the director and the residents working out there. They paid for another night in a hotel and the following day they gave me a tour but basically i just shadowed their residents and they even had me go see a patient in the clinic. The rural PD is super old school and doesn't really intend on "interviewing" you. It's more a "this is what we do--take it or leave it" kinda vibe which youll either like or you wont! Very chill and low key...but definitely not "the norm" when it comes to an interview day if you choose to do the Rural part."

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
