Interview Experience

"The interview started at 9am and ended at 12:30pm. There was no pre-dinner or post-interview events. The interview was very relax, everyone is very welcoming. The interview was at the pediatric hospital, is located in an area of many hospitals so if you are not familiar with the area make sure to look for the hospital the day before the interview. The interview began with their two program directors introducing the program, then we were interview by one of the program directors and either by another faculty member or a resident. We also had a tour of the facility, the interview ended with lunch with the residents. This is a new program, this year they had their first graduating class, but is a very strong program and is very well organized. The residents seem very happy and spoke highly of the program. The program seemed to be very interested in applicants with on interest in research, they also expressed how much they want their residents to do research; it just seem that everyone there was highly interested in research. You have to be fluent in Spanish. "

"The night before, the residents did a Q&A for the interview candidates. The morning of, the program coordinator shared a little bit about the program while waiting for the Program Director to give a powerpoint presentation about the program. We then moved into a waiting room with the other candidates and had the chance to chat with each other and occasionally with the program coordinator. We interviewed with the PD, faculty and the program coordinator. "
