A typical program year consists of 2 months of inpatient internal medicine, one month coronary care unit, one month trauma- neuro critical care, one month med-surg, one month each of ambulatory medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry and surgery. The remaining 3 months of the residency training include one or more of the following electives: anesthesiology, all of the sub-specialties of internal medicine and surgery, OB/GYN, pediatrics, the neurosciences, physical medicine, diagnostic and neuroradiology, etc.
